Three things: Day 21

1) It’s easy to get a new public transport card here.  I unfortunately lost my bus card together with my phone yesterday, and was a bit worried it’d be a hassle and a bunch of paper work and time wasted to get a new one. Luckily, the lady at the transportation office was super helpful and everything was done in a few minutes.
2) Decided to visit a friend in another city for the weekend, and managed to book one of the last 2 seats on the bus. Yay!
3) Ended up buying a random dress at a second hand shop… Is that something good? I don’t know, I don’t really like buying stuff and I think I kinda did it because I got stressed (the shop was closing, and then I felt like I should buy something since I was there and all and… well hahaha) but also it did fit better than I usually see dresses fit. Maybe because I don’t usually try out clothes because I don’t usually go clothes shopping, to be fair. But nevermind that. It’s a nice dress.

Three things: Day 20

1) I had chocolate in my bag. That’s a blessing. I know I need to find better strategies to manage frustration and negative feelings haha, but not today.
2) The frozen food I heated today actually tasted OK (as opposed to the food yesterday which was honestly pretty disgusting…) <– see it’s all about having low expectations. And food. Maybe in the end, it’s all about food.
3) It’s nice to have wifi….? Bear with me. My phone got stolen so indeed wifi is more appreciated than usual, and the little things of today might not seem very impressive xD

Three things: Day 19

29/10
1) I woke up and felt much better than yesterday, whoop whoop! See it’s really nice to lower you standards. Although on the other hand, I was almost hoping I could be just a little bit sick so I could stay at home today instead of going to my rotations… Oh well.
2) Meeting a friend made me really happy and energetic! Because (if not apparent from above point) I really just wanted to stay in bed all day, but then it this was just super nice!
3) I was not bored during the meeting in the evening…? Not sure why this became my happy thing today, maybe I just had really low expectations for some unknown reason. With low (or no) expectations, it’s easier to get positively suprised. :3

Three things: Day 18

1) I got company to the airport. Also with people I thought I wouldn’t catch up with, so that was nice 🙂
2) I managed to eat sandwich without spilling on my clothes??! (Low standards, again) I was quite surprised, and happily so, of course. Especially since I was standing in the line to board a plane, and it would be super annoying to spill (colourful, yucky) stuff right there and then – although I kinda expected it to happen. Good job, self!
3) Met a lovely friend during a layover, and I felt kinda bad about having a headache (sometimes I’m just so constructive, I know) so then I was quite happy that I could get my shit together and enjoy those hours and provide (hopefully) good company :3

Three things: Day 17

1) Lunch made me all IFMSA fluffy again. People were just so cute, and there was such a lovely atmosphere. Someone made a song about IFMSA. People were happy. It was sunny (or maybe it wasn’t sunny, but in my mind, it was sunny. I don’t know) It’s also nice because it feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this fluffy (I know, I need to work on my vocabulary) about IFMSA.
2) I got a boat as feedback for my training session. I’m not sure how I should interpret it, but I liked it. More boats for the people!
3) Talking to new people, was honestly quite nice. Also something I feel like I haven’t done much during our previous national events. So much energy, and such young people… Eh. And of course meeting old people is ❤ ❤ ❤

Three things: Day 16

1) Got food on the airplain although I was sleeping. Woke up by the passenger next to me smashing down my table, then I received the food, and continued sleeping. Dunno whose idea it was but that’s a big yay. Even a yay in my sleep.
2) It was somehow a productive day. By 5pm, I had walked some 15000 steps, been to a party, travelled from Spain to Sweden, gotten a new sim card and a bunch of stuff for friends. Nevermind Sweden is all rainy and cold (thank you lady for giving me a thick jacket), feeling productive makes me happy (and my definition of productivity, well…)
3) Continuing on the productivity theme, I actually almost felt useful during our meeting in the evening, with the immensely challenging task of changing slides and finding the right documents for the projector. Oh well, it’s always something. I like to feel useful, even if it’s not impressively useful.

Three things: Day 14

1) I found a radio channel with very few ads. Otherwise, it feels like there are ads every 3 minutes…
2) Dancing was fun! I should do that more often.
3) I asked three people fo directions at the hospital. They were friendly and showed me the way. As in really friendly, and insiting on walking with me to the door although I told them it was fine to just point the direction (or maybe what I said didn’t make enough sense? Haha). That was so nice of them.

Three things: Day 12

1) Remember the shopkeeper I wrote about earlier? So I got a winter jacket and two pairs of jeans today, which were apparently sad and unused in her home. She laughed at my plans of layer-on-layer when it gets cold, and told me my jacket is not pretty at all haha. Youth these days all dressed in black, sigh 😛 This is hilarious.
2) I was almost helpful at the meeting I attended this evening, with an organisation I’m trying to volunteer with over here. I got to take notes towards the end, and I was like if you speak really slowly I just might understand the Spanish…
3) Also I registered two new people with the organisation, both from Syria. They were really sweet and funny, we walked to the metro together and laughed at my attempts to speak Arabic. Definitely brightened my day a bit more.
